Postponement of 10th Erasmus Staff Training Week

As recent epidemiological data about COVID-19 indicate a resurgence of the pandemic both in Greece and throughout Europe, we regret to inform that we have come to the hard decision of postponing the 10th edition of our Erasmus+ Staff Training Week, meant to take place between 19th and 23rd October, 2020.

We hope that we will able to transfer this successful event sometime in the spring semester 2020-2021, if circumstances allow for such a decision, and invite again all partner institutions and colleagues to join us for an exciting week of sharing of common experiences and best practices.

Themes:

The Erasmus Staff Training week is addressed to all interested parties working in the following fields:

  1. Erasmus+ Programme
  2. Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme
  3. Erasmus+ KA2 project management
  4. International Relations
  5. e-University
  6. Refugee-migrants Students and Scholars in Higher Education

Target Group:

Colleagues from European and International Universities working in various departments, and who are dealing with the Erasmus+ programmes generally, Erasmus+ and Erasmus+ International mobilities and agreements, Erasmus+ KA2 projects, international relations, career services, e-University, refugee/migrants student and scholars integration into higher education,etc.

Draft Work Programme:

The detailed programme will be announced in due time. In a nutshell it will include:
  • Relevant presentations on the above themes (from representatives of the organizing University, the participants and Erasmus+ officials)
  • Workshops (participants should choose one non-binding preference per day):
    • Digitalization of Erasmus+ mobility procedures: In-house and Erasmus+ IT tools

    • Best practices in implementation of Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (KA107)

    • Social Erasmus

  • Modern Greek Language and Culture course
  • Opportunities for new cooperations, etc.
  • City and University tour
  • Archeological sightseeing

Application Process & Fee:

The application period will be from the 1st of July to the 31st of August, 2020

Compulsory Participation Fee: 300 Euros

Early registration: those who will register until the 31th of July will pay 270 Euros

Erasmus funding might be available through your institution (Erasmus Staff training mobility). For further information, please check with your International/Erasmus Office.

By the 10th of September 2020, all applicants will be informed by e‐mail whether their application was approved or not.

The fee includes:

  • Training and informative material
  • Workshops and presentations
  • Experts’ Presentations
  • Modern Greek Language and culture course
  • Entrance to the AUTh museums
  • Transport to the archeological site of Vergina (Archaeological Site of Aigai - Macedonian Royal Tombs)
  • City and University tours

Additionally, we offer all coffee breaks, four lunches and an official dinner.

 

Accommodation:

The accommodation cost will be covered by the participants. However, the organizers can suggest a variety of possible convenient solutions, taking into consideration the location, the service quality and the price range of the lodgings. Further details will be mailed to the participants, after the confirmation of the mobility.

The main purposes of the Staff Training Weeks held every year at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is to widen and strengthen the cooperation with our partner institutions, to share our different experiences on internationalization, and to facilitate networking and establishment of new partnerships. Participants will be given the opportunity to learn from the experiences and good practices of the partner institutions and focus on relevant discussions such as exchanging ideas about fostering student and staff mobility, presenting their home universities as well as structures and working practices, discussing the current issue of refugee-migrants entering Higher Education, exploring and discussing special topics of interest, etc.

 

 *The Staff Training will take place should the worldwide conditions allow it.
