The Language Teaching Institute (SLI) at the Faculty of Philology, University of Freiburg, has been offering a regular Staff Week within the framework of the ERASMUS+ programme since March 2024. We are pleased to continue and further develop this format in 2027.
The Staff Week is aimed at international partner universities and focuses on practice-oriented professional development, institutional exchange, and the acquisition of key transversal competencies in the higher education context.
The programme includes German language courses as well as thematic staff training courses delivered in English. These address central topics in higher education development and transformation and combine practical approaches with international exchange of experience.
The courses include, among others:
– AI Literacy in Higher Education: critical, reflective, and responsible use of artificial intelligence in administration, teaching, and research
– Sustainability and Digital Transformation in Higher Education: sustainable and future-oriented campus and organisational development in the digital age
– Prompt to Practice: Hands-on AI and Social Media for University Staff
– Cycling for Sustainable Cities
– Resilience in Professional Life
– Theatre Techniques for Effective Interaction

The aim of the Staff Week is to provide participants with concrete, transferable knowledge as well as new perspectives for their daily professional practice at their home institutions.
