We are pleased to inform you that registrations are now open for the upcoming Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment - HECTA Summer School, which will take place at the Department of Economics and Management, University of Trento, in Trento, on 23–25 June.
The three-day Summer School is a joint initiative of the Universities of Trento, Bolzano-Bozen, and Innsbruck, and is open to MSc and PhD students from different disciplines. It introduces participants to Health Technology Assessment, which examines the value of new health technologies in publicly funded healthcare systems by looking beyond clinical benefits to broader economic and societal effects. Within this framework, health economics is applied to compare relevant costs and outcomes to inform decisions on whether new technologies represent a worthwhile use of resources for patients and healthcare systems.
The programme will equip participants with foundational knowledge and highly sought-after analytical skills through practical sessions, providing a strong basis for evidence-based decision-making and for careers in the healthcare sector, public institutions, and academia. It will also offer a unique opportunity to engage with international experts in the field and to connect with fellow students and researchers interested in this area.
This initiative receives generous financial support from Euregio through the Euregio Mobility Fund, which fully covers registration and tuition fees, including a social event. For students from the University of Bolzano-Bozen, the fund covers travel costs. For students from the University of Innsbruck, it covers travel costs and provides support towards accommodation in Trento for the three-day programme.
