Summer Schools 2026: AI, Animal Law and Companies crossing Borders

Broaden your legal horizons this summer! Join one (or more) international summer schools offered by the Faculty of Law of the University of Antwerp.

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will receive 3 ECTS credits and a micro-credential certificate.

Tuition fees and application deadlines may vary, depending on the summer school. Be sure to visit the summer school websites for details on the programme, application procedure, tuition fees, and available scholarships or discounts.

Companies crossing Borders

22 - 26 June 2026

Expanding a business across borders isn’t just about ambition—it’s also about navigating mergers, tax rules, labour laws, and international contracts like a pro.

Target group: Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in law, business or economics, or students enrolled in those disciplines in at least their third year. Those with similar competences (to be assessed on a case-by-case basis) are also eligible for this summer school.

Animal Law, Rights and Representation

17 - 21 August 2026

In Panama, sea turtles now have legal rights, raising important questions about what “rights for animals” actually means in practice. Gain insight in animal law as a legal discipline, learn about animal rights and find ways to represent animals in court.

Target group: Third-year bachelor’s and master’s students in law. Participants should have at least completed 2 full years of higher education in a relevant field of study. Professionals with relevant experience in the field are also welcome to apply.

Legal Technology and Responsible AI

24 – 28 August 2026

Dive into how technology is transforming business, customer, and legal services. Learn about predictive algorithms and the ethical/legal frameworks for responsible AI. Developed with ACRAI (Antwerp Center on Responsible AI).

Target group: This summer school is primarily designed for master’s students with an interest in law and technology and does not require any prior legal or technical knowledge. PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and professionals with relevant experience in the field are also welcome to apply.
