Inter-institutional agreement between programme countries


Agreement duration: 2015 - 2018

The institutions named below agree to cooperate for the exchange of students and/or staff in the context of the Erasmus+ programme. They commit to respect the quality requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education in all aspects related to the organisation and management of the mobility, in particular the recognition of the credits awarded to students by the partner institution.

D. Additional requirements

1. Aristotle University of Thessaloniki:

Courses at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki are normally taught in Greek. However, there are courses in other languages too, especially at the Foreign Language Faculties, Faculty of Law (courses in English, French and German language), School of Journalism & Mass Communications, School of Economics and School of Political Sciences. In all other cases, there are special arrangements for Erasmus+ students, such as assignment of essays in English with the use of English bibliography in small groups of students.

Greek Language courses for Erasmus+ students

There are regular and online Greek language courses, which start at the beginning of each semester. These courses are organized specifically for Erasmus+ students with the support of the EU and are offered free of charge under certain conditions in regard to absences. Students with disabilities

Social and Health Policy Committee of AUTH was established in 1997 with the aim to facilitate students with disabilities. Services have been developed and updated according to European and International standards. There are several fields that Social and Health Policy Committee is getting involved, always aiming to make student life easier so that all students can focus on their academic demands.

Students with visual impairment

- Converting books or notes in any file the student is using to study (text to speech, print them in Braille etc)

Students with hearing disabilities

- Interpretation in Greek Sign language everywhere in the campus of our University during working hours.

- Unfortunately we do not provide interpretations in other foreign sign languages.

Students with mobility disabilities

- We provide transportation to students with mobility disabilities from their residences to the campus and vice versa in an everyday basis.

- connect students with other institutions so that they will be given the professional care they need depending on their issue.

2. Yaşar Üniversitesi

1. YU provides all the information (rules, regulations, procedures, requirements etc.) about incoming students/staff at the link: http://erasmus.yasar.edu.tr. The students and staff are expected to follow the page and respect the indicated procedures.

2. Applications must be submitted online, http://applyerasmus.yasar.edu.tr . The original signed and stamped copies of the Application Form, Learning Agreement, Transcript of Records, copy of Health insurance valid in Turkey and 1 passport size photo must be posted to the Yasar University EU Center. Students should visit http://erasmus.yasar.edu.tr before their mobility.

3. All the students must attend to the orientation programme and its activities organized during the semester. It is recognized in the ToR as the course “UFND 080- International Orientation Studies” (1 ECTS).

4. At the beginning of each semester, a full range of orientation programmes are held for new students to provide an insight into the university culture, as well as to introduce the academic, social, cultural, sporting and cultural activities available on campus.

5. Students are offered “SOFL 001-Turkish as a Second Language I” for fall and spring semester (3 ECTS) which is A1 Level and “SOFL 002-Turkish as a Second Language II” for spring semester which is A2 Level for practical usage (3 ECTS).

6. All the incoming students must have a health insurance which is valid in Turkey during the mobility period.

7. YU provides Mentor Programme which enables local and Erasmus students to meet people from different countries, cultures and allows the students to introduce a new atmosphere, to enhance the university experience but above all, the personal experience. All incoming students will be assigned a mentor. The mentor will advise and guide Erasmus students during their study at YU.

8. Yaşar University has a campus which offers relevant infrastructure for disabled people. Please inform the details of the disability before the mobility period starts (euc@yasar.edu.tr).

9. The Health Centre at the YU is the first place for students to go in case of any minor health related issues. Students are treated free of charge.

10. The Psychological Guidance and Counselling Unit prioritises the wellbeing of students in line with the health services offered at the university.

4. Termination of the agreement

In the event of unilateral termination, a notice of at least one academic year should be given. This means that a unilateral decision to discontinue the exchanges notified to the other party by 1 September 20XX will only take effect as of 1 September 20XX+1. The termination clauses must include the following disclaimer: "Neither the European Commission nor the National Agencies can be held responsible in case of a conflict."
