Inter-institutional agreement between programme countries


Agreement duration: 2015 - 2021

The institutions named below agree to cooperate for the exchange of students and/or staff in the context of the Erasmus+ programme. They commit to respect the quality requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education in all aspects related to the organisation and management of the mobility, in particular the recognition of the credits awarded to students by the partner institution.

D. Additional requirements

1. Aristotle University of Thessaloniki:

Courses at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki are normally taught in Greek. However, there are courses in other languages too, especially at the Foreign Language Faculties, Faculty of Law (courses in English, French and German language), School of Journalism & Mass Communications, School of Economics and School of Political Sciences. In all other cases, there are special arrangements for Erasmus+ students, such as assignment of essays in English with the use of English bibliography in small groups of students.

Greek Language courses for Erasmus+ students

There are regular and online Greek language courses, which start at the beginning of each semester. These courses are organized specifically for Erasmus+ students with the support of the EU and are offered free of charge under certain conditions in regard to absences. Students with disabilities

Social and Health Policy Committee of AUTH was established in 1997 with the aim to facilitate students with disabilities. Services have been developed and updated according to European and International standards. There are several fields that Social and Health Policy Committee is getting involved, always aiming to make student life easier so that all students can focus on their academic demands.

Services available

Students with visual impairment

- Converting books or notes in any file the student is using to study (text to speech, print them in Braille etc)

Students with hearing disabilities

- Interpretation in Greek Sign language everywhere in the campus of our University during working hours.

- Co-operation with Hellenic Federation of the Deaf in order to provide sign language interpreters for all lessons of deaf students.

- Unfortunately we do not provide interpretations in other foreign sign languages.

Students with mobility disabilities

- We provide transportation to students with mobility disabilities from their residences to the campus and vice versa in an everyday basis.

- connect students with other institutions so that they will be given the professional care they need depending on their issue.

2. TED University

1. All information (rules, procedures, requirements etc.) and required documents about incoming students/ staff are available at: www.tedu.edu.tr/erasmus. Students and staff are expected to follow this page and the indicated procedures.

2. The sending institution has to inform the departmental coordinator and the International Programs Office at TED University about nominated incoming students and verify that the students have been selected for the Student Mobility for Studies under the Erasmus+ Programme.

3. All applications must be submitted online at: www.tedu.edu.tr/erasmus. Students are required to post:  1. the original signed and stamped copy of the application form, 2. learning agreement, 3. transcript of records, 4. a copy of health insurance, which is valid in Turkey, and 5. 1 passport size photo to TED University International Programs Office. Staffs are also required to fill in the application form and bring the original signed and stamped copy.

4. Incoming teaching staff must be individually accepted by the department that coordinates the bilateral agreement.

5. All incoming students must get a health insurance before they apply for visa. The insurance should be valid in Turkey for the duration of their stay.

6. Incoming students can apply to the Health Centre at TED University for minor health related issues. Students are treated free of charge.

7. Incoming students must attend the orientation week to take place prior to the start of each term.

8. Incoming students will be provided lunch for free of charge.

9. Students need to register for the regular courses until the end of the add-drop period, which falls within the first two weeks of the semester. Offered courses are listed at: http://www.tedu.edu.tr/en-US/Content/Students/Courses_Offered.aspx.

10. TED University has a campus which has some facilities for disabled people. Please inform the International Programs Office regarding the details of the disability before the mobility period starts.

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki:
2. Following the receipt of the paper application (printed online application), AUTH will send its decision within 4-6 weeks.
3. A Transcript of Records will be issued by the receiving institution no later than 5 weeks after the assessment period has finished at the receiving HEI.

TED University
2.

TED University will send its decision via e-mail within 4 weeks after the end of the application deadline, provided that documents are complete.

A Transcript of Records will be issued by TED University no later than 5 weeks after the assessment period has finished.


4. Termination of the agreement

In the event of unilateral termination, a notice of at least one academic year should be given. This means that a unilateral decision to discontinue the exchanges notified to the other party by 1 September 20XX will only take effect as of 1 September 20XX+1. The termination clauses must include the following disclaimer: "Neither the European Commission nor the National Agencies can be held responsible in case of a conflict."

The sending and receiving institutions will provide assistance in obtaining insurance for incoming and outbound mobile participants, according to the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.
