In the French University system, each course unit is graded on a scale from 0 to 20 points and each numerical grade corresponds to a qualitative grade as follows.
Please note, however, that the ECTS grading system by levels calculated as percentages cannot be strictly applied to Esban as the number of students is not large enough :
Grade > ECTS Grade : Comment / Result / Assessment
0-6.9 > F : Confused, very little knowledge, poor understanding of the issues / FAIL / Failure
07-9.9 > FX : Confused, limited understanding, lack of analytical capacity / FAIL / Failure
10-10, 9 > E : Knowledge to be developed, a partial understanding of the issues / PASS / Tolerable
11-11.9 > D : Good understanding, good knowledge but an analysis to refine / PASS / Satisfactory
12-13.9 > C : Good knowledge, correct analysis, consistent work / PASS / Good
14-15.9 > B : Very good understanding, clear and targeted work / PASS / Very good
16-16.9 > A : Very good understanding, fair analysis, clear and focused work / PASS / Excellent
17-20 > A +: A remarkable work showing insight and originality / PASS / Excellent

Pass/fail scheme (for courses where no ECTS is awarded) :
P : 10-20 (Admis/Pass)
