We are delighted to invite you to the University of Oulu’s International Staff Week, taking place from 23 to 27 November 2026 at our Linnanmaa campus. The preliminary program is available on our website. The week offers opportunities to connect with colleagues from around the world and exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices related to international collaboration and internationalisation of higher education.
Please register via this link. Places are limited. Registration is open until 30 September or until all places are filled. Please note that we can host a maximum of 2 participants per partner institution. If possible, we kindly ask you to coordinate this within your institution. We also ask registrants to wait for our official confirmation before making any travel arrangements.
Participation in the Staff Week is free of charge. The University of Oulu will provide lunches and dinners on Monday and Tuesday, as well as lunch on Wednesday. Participants are responsible for covering their own accommodation and travel expenses.
Program Highlights
Our guest speaker, Senior Lecturer and Lead COIL Researcher Simone Hackett from The Hague University of Applied Sciences, will provide an evidence-based perspective on Collaborative Online International Learning, drawing on her own research and established educational theories to explore its principles, practical applications, and effective design strategies. Participants will also gain insights into how the University of Oulu supports the integration and wellbeing of international students.
As Oulu celebrates its year as the European Capital of Culture, participants can enjoy a wide range of cultural activities on campus and across the city during their visit. The International Staff Week is part of the University of Oulu’s Oulu2026 programme and coincides with the Festival of Cultures, where our community shares its diverse cultural heritage through workshops and events.
