Spring is here: time to make plans for the summer!

This year, ifs offers two Summer Schools for newcomers: the popular three week program Summer School Screenwriting in English and a new German-language Summer School Screenwriting JUNIOR for young writers.

 

SUMMER SCHOOL SCREENWRITING

3 weeks | August 16 – September 3, 2021


The three-week Summer School Screenwriting is an intensive, compact and collaborative program for writing talents of all ages and professional backgrounds who want to learn, deepen and apply the fundamentals of screenwriting in theory and practice. This popular, fun and challenging workshop is led by renowned US screenwriter and writing instructor Keith Cunningham (»The Soul of Screenwriting«) and Greek writer and director Alkioni Valsari. The English-language course concludes with the development of an original short film script.

SUMMER SCHOOL SCREENWRITING JUNIOR

 

for writing talents between 16 and 23 years
1 week | August 9 – 13, 2021

With the Summer School Screenwriting JUNIOR, the ifs offers a program specifically aimed at high school students, trainees, and university students. In a friendly atmosphere, aspiring writing talents discover the most important basics of screenwriting and learn to develop scenes and screenplays. The focus of this one-week workshop is on playfully exploring the screenwriters’ craft and on discovering one's individual writing style. This German-language course is led by Cologne screenwriters and ifs alumni Alexander Daus and Julia Charakter.
