The 29th Jyväskylä Summer School

Do you want to experience the bright summer nights in Finland, boost up your academic knowledge of STEM - science, technology, engineering, mathematics - during the summer break, and create social networks and memories? Jyväskylä Summer School offers you the opportunity to challenge yourself, develop your skills and pushes you forward towards a successful career in your field of interest. The Summer School brings together participants from all around the world, so you also get the chance to spend time in an international science community.

The 29th Jyväskylä Summer School offers courses for advanced Master’s students, PhD students and post-docs in various fields of natural sciences, mathematics and information technology. Students from all over the world are encouraged to apply. Jyväskylä Summer School provides students with an excellent opportunity to participate in a large number of courses and benefit from high-quality interdisciplinary teaching by respected researchers from all over the world. All courses are taught in English.

  • CH1: Synthetic Photochemistry and Photocatalysis
  • NANO1/BIO2/PH2/CH5: Biomineralization and Biological Materials
  • MA3: Selected Topics in the Theory of Backward Stochastic Differential Equations
  • STAT1: Bayesian Nonparametric Statistics
  • COM1: Iterative Regularization Methods for Inverse Problems
  • COM2: Human Factors Methodology and Analysis in Programming Language Design
  • COG1: Inclusive and Accessible Design of ICT: Foundational Introduction to Creating Technology for Humans with Diverse Sensory, Cognitive and Physical Abilities
  • CYB2: Network and Information Security

Participation in the courses is free of charge, but participants are expected to cover their own costs, including travel, accommodation, meals, insurance and possible visa costs.
