E+ staff training week "AI in Teaching and Research: Transforming Academic Practice" [1]

We are pleased to inform you that Saarland University will host an international and interdisciplinary Erasmus+ Staff Week entitled
"Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Research: Transforming Academic Practice",
taking place from 8–12 June 2026 at our Saarbrücken campus.

Artificial intelligence has rapidly become one of the most transformative forces of our time. Its impact extends across science, industry, culture, and society, fundamentally reshaping how we work, communicate, and generate knowledge. Higher education plays a central role in this transformation: universities not only lead cutting‑edge AI research but also rethink teaching and learning through intelligent technologies.
Saarland University warmly invites you to explore these developments with both curiosity and critical reflection. Building on our key research strengths in Biomedicine, Computer Science, Interdisciplinary European Studies, and Sustainability, the Staff Week will offer international participants valuable insights into the applications and implications of AI across diverse academic fields.

Throughout the programme, we will:
examine current technological breakthroughs
discuss emerging challenges
reflect on ethical, social, and pedagogical aspects of AI in academia

Our aim is to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and to collectively navigate both the opportunities and complexities of AI—within universities and beyond.
