It is located in a quiet residential neigbourhood, which is surrounded by Byzantine walls (Castra) that once served as the city's Acropolis. Going downhill, it is a 20-minute walk to Aristotle University's School of Philosophy but walking uphill can be challenging, so taking the bus on the way up is recommended. The bus-stop is 3 minutes from the apartment. In the neighourhood, one can find traditional Greek tavernas and the imposing Heptapyrgion tower, and the platform outside the Byzantine walls that offers a breath-taking panoramic view of the city and the sea beyond. Also in the neighbourhood one can find a supermarket and all kinds of small shops. The layout of the apartment is designed to bring in plenty of light. There are 2 bedrooms, a living room-kitchen as continuous space, and a bathroom with full tub & shower. The apartment is completely furnished and has everything one needs, including pots & pans, forks & knives, bed sheets and bath towels. The main bedroom contains a double bed with a night table next to it, a wall-to-wal closet with several compartments and a small desk. The 2nd, slightly smaller bedroom contains a large desk, a single bed, a small chest of drawers with mirror, and a portable closet. There is a furnished balcony in the front and a smaller utility balcony in the back. Special features of the apartment include: natural gas heating system (individually regulated), security system, double pane windows. Amenities include: air-conditioner, dehumidifier, iron w/ board, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, cooking stove, microwave oven, boiling kettle, cable TV, Wifi, vacuum cleaner, washing machine (in bathroom). The amount of 300 Euros per person, per month includes all utilities. There may be a small extra charge if air-conditioning is used in summer. In case a single person occupies the whole apartment, the rent for single tenancy is 470 euros plus heating per month. There is no smoking inside the apartment.
